Blue Fang Games Named a Red Herring Top 100 Company

Award recognizes 100 private companies in North America that drive the technology industry’s future

Waltham, MA – May 11, 2005 – Blue Fang Games™, developer of the leading Games for Windows® franchise “Zoo Tycoon™,” announced today that it has been named one of the Red Herring 100 Private Companies of North America.

Red Herring’s lists of private companies are an important part of the magazine’s tradition of identifying new and innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs. Companies like Google and eBay were spotted in their early days by Red Herring editors as those that would change the way we live and work.

Red Herring’s editorial staff rigorously evaluated more than 900 private companies through a careful analysis of financial data and subjective criteria, including quality of management, execution of strategy, and dedication to research and development. Many of the Red Herring 100 companies will be presenting their business model and strategy at the Red Herring Spring conference, which will take place May 17-19 at the Monterey Plaza Hotel in Monterey, California.

“Five years after the dot-com bubble burst, innovation and entrepreneurship are thriving,” said Red Herring editor-in-chief Joel Dreyfuss. “The companies on this list are proof.”

“We are thrilled to be acknowledged among America’s top private companies by Red Herring,” said Hank Howie, president of Blue Fang Games. “Blue Fang is committed to creating best-in-class games and we take great pride in our professional development practices and project management expertise. For all of our success to date, we’re continually refining our capabilities to meet the demands of the highly competitive game industry, and look forward to even greater success in the years ahead.”
