Senior Producer: Online/Mobile
Blue Fang Games is an independent game developer focused on applying proven game design and development principles to the new social, online and mobile game platforms. Our first Facebook game, Zoo Kingdom, is one of the fastest growing games on Facebook with over 1.5 million monthly active users and we’re just getting started! Our growing team is comprised of a singular combination of game industry veterans and online/social gaming talent and is focused on delivering original, dynamic experiences that stand out from all the “me-too” games out there.
BFG is looking for a Producer with experience in online, web, and social networking games. The Producer reports directly to the Director of Online / Mobile and works with department leads to manage and drive development across multiple projects. We are looking for a candidate who is fast on their feet, self motivated, and familiar with our target markets. This person must be passionate about games and willing to adopt whatever production methodology is appropriate for the work at hand. They must also have cradle-to-grave development experience on numerous titles.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate product development through all phases: planning, development, launch, and live development.
• Collaborate with department leads to create both short and long term plans, scope the project, create development schedules, and drive milestones.
• Actively participate in the game development process and be comfortable engaging the team and resolving issues. Work directly with talented designers, engineers and artists to ensure the smooth development of quality products.
• Be the project spokesperson, development information coordinator, and team advocate. Ensure all concurrent game projects meet schedule, budgetary, and marketing requirements. At any moment, know exactly what development is tasked to and what’s coming.
QUALIFICATIONS
• A high-level understanding of game development, client side development, and server side development. Be able to take us through pre-pro to a live online game. Know the entire process, risk areas, and decisions needed for success.
• Team player with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Achieve team goals through empowering, not hard lining.
• 3-5 years working as a producer on numerous titles – including multiple casual, social and/or mobile games that had short timelines and small budgets
• An absolute passion for gaming and fundamental understanding of all markets involved with the division. Up to speed with the latest trends in social games on Facebook, MySpace, Xbox live, etc
• Ability to gracefully balance schedule needs with creative imperatives. You push for quality, innovation and fun while managing budget and time. Ability to manage multiple fires and keen skills to keep things from falling through the cracks.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel in art, design, programming and management
• Ability to create project schedules and milestone definitions, and then shepherd development and individual tasks against those schedules
• PLUS: Experience managing live games – where the game is continuously iterated and improved after shipping and an solid understanding of virtual goods and in-game commerce concepts.
